This truck is old enough to vote. I remember seeing these brand new way back in the day.

These Super Duty Fords looks massive when they were first introduced. Now, if you were to park it next to a modern F150, this F250 would look dwarfed in comparison, even if the overall dimensions are similar.

Still a great looking truck, and the last of the reliable Ford HDs.

Same thing with almost every truck. Look at the first gen Tacoma’s and what they have become now. But I will give it to you, the new F150's are huge!

One of the Noughties most colourful blunt instruments. And now most that are left are just a worn down tatty nub of a crayon...
I recall watching one lose pieces of itself over the months of travelling in and out of our rural town in Oz as an engineering test mule. When they came to market... no-one there bought one.

Around here the ones still on the road are rusty as hell.

My dad has a 99 V10 f350 with around 80k miles. It is a POS

Every now and then I see one of these in basic single-cab, manual transmission, 4x4 configuration with the 7.3L diesel and I feel a touch of longing. Buying a local model in MI is probably asking for tragedy writ large in rust-colored letters, but maybe there’s a Southern truck out there somewhere that hasn’t been molested.
I’ve never actually driven one, but I recall seeing a friend’s dad break into tears after his was totaled by a drunk driver. People seem to like them, and what’s not to like about a basic diesel work truck?

I remember a family friend had a c.2005 model and it had a ton of problems. In 2008... I think it was the PowerStroke, though, so that may explain it.

If you really want to feel old, visit a junkyard.
That being said, this design aged very well.

I owned one of those when they were only a few years old. It was probably my favorite truck overall. 03 F-250, extended cab/long bed, 7.3/auto/4x2/, teal with silver two-tone with a matching camper shell.

My uncle had one. He was always a Chevy guy at one time he had four Chevy 1500's. He bought a red diesel manual Ford F-150 that generation, and loves it, it’s his favorite of any truck he’s had.

Didn’t the Ford diesels have some problems, or was I thinking of a different engine?

I think that’s the newer ones. The 7.3 IDI engines have a reputation as being pretty bulletproof, as far as I’m aware.
